White and red rose

A rose painted from life. I’m always so happy when this particular rosebush blooms. I just love how the petals are white on one side and red on the other.

  1. I have been chasing this rose for nearly 2 years. No one can tell me what it is and most people don’t believe it exists. You have it beautifully. PLEASE…what is it called?

    1. I have no idea what it’s called! There’s one old bush with these roses in my apartment complex. They’re sure beautiful. I have lots of photos of them, too.

  2. *grabs a local rose expert*

This is from my friend, who has in excess of 65 beautiful thriving rose bushes in their garden and knows all the names. He says: “Looks like a Snowfire or a Love rose but it may be hard to judge precisely from just a painting. To be sure, ask at a good nursery or agriculture/horticulture department of a college. Or refer to literature such as the Jackson and Perkins Rose Companion.”

    Hope that helps!
